Each of the players in MITA have been invited to be part of the Academy. The Weekend Warriors are a group of aspiring young intermediate/advanced tennis players that have a high level of comitement to train as much as 6+ hours every Week, on the weekend as well as several other times throughout the week. The International Competitor Warriors are a group of players aspiring to play in overseas competition by year end. Their goal are to play in ITF, USTA , Orange Bowl or Casely Tennis Toiurnaments. All players must qualify to be apart of this committed group of players. To qualify the player must be willing to train at high intensity levels, show commitement, desire, a high level work ethic, discipline and focus. Warrior training time is Warrior training time. As a Warrior the player is considered a member of MITA and an Academy membership application must be filled out. Warrior training consists of Fitness, Drills for Agility, Mobility, Advanced Stroke Production, Mental Toughness, Game Srategy, Match Play, Nutrition, Focus and Match Preparation. Each player receives instruction from at least 3 qualified local coaches and guest local and foreign coaches, t-shirts, a student manual, evaluation of their game and performance in training. We are in the process of introducing a unioform that we hope to have each participant wear when they train with the warriors. For their participation in the weekend warrior training the players gain points. The top six players will qualify to travel to play in overseas tournaments, USTA tournaments in Florida and ITF tournaments in the caribbean and train at ITA or a high performance tennis academy throughout the year. It is our goal as the coaches to prepare all the players to play at a high level of intensity and comitement. All Players are expected to know and follow the Bermuda Ministry of Sport and Community Affairs, the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA), and the ITF code of conduct. Invitation, Membership and Fall Weekend Warrior Application need to be filled out and reviewed by each player. Weekend Warriors play in BLTA, USTA, and ITF scantioned tournaments. All weekend waerriors need to registered with the BLTA & USTA, they also need to have a presence on the Junior Tennis website. When they play in COTECC junior tournaments they gain a ranking that can be viewed on the COTECC website.

Enrolment into the Academy
We are now taking applications for players into the Academy including the Weekend Warriors. All players are expected to be at the high intermediate to advanced level of playing performance for the warriors training schedule and regime. Lower level players are not neccessarly turned away. Instead we encourage participation in the Grassroot tennis training with the BLTA on Saturday mornings or with the Academy on Sunday afternoons and afterschool.

Weekend Training! Training begun for Weekend Warriors! Started the first Friday and Saturday in September. We train every Friday and Saturday.
In addition to the Weekend training each player is expected to do their private time work including crunches and pushups at home - 3 sets of 10 daily.
Run 4 miles a week. (or 50 laps)
Skip 1000 skips a week
Hit 1000 forehand groundstrokes a week
Hit 1000 backhand groundstrokes a week
Hit 1000 serves a week
Hit 1000 forehand volleys a week
Hit 1000 backhand volleys a week
Attend afterschool training throughout the week (1-3 times a week).
